It is ever present in everything I do, see, and touch. It is my personal entertainment. When I look at something, I immediately see its fundamental shape, it's depth of color, it’s texture, and enjoy focusing on what the light brings to it. I love imagining how it could be interpreted in to an oil painting, a watercolor, an ink splatter, a photograph, or how to transform it into something totally different, from an art installation to a handbag. I am never bored. I can look at things endlessly. Imagination is my best friend. It allows me to create spaces out of thin air, and gardens from a cleared field. I suppose this is the true meaning of an artist’s eye. Inspiration is everywhere. My excitement with starting a new piece, comes to me when the work takes on its own life. I find that the art comes through me. Another joy, is being its vehicle. I am so am thankful for these gifts as they give way to passion, and that passion is my driving force.' |
